Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Bowne-Munro Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for K-4 Students

Safety is our TOP priority!

  • Dogs are not permitted on school property. 
  • Electric scooters and small motorized vehicles are not permitted at arrival or dismissal time. 
  • Children may not be on school property before or after school hours without adult supervision. 
  • Once parents/guardians pick up their child, it is expected that you are heading home. Please supervise your child at all times.
  • School rules are expected to be followed while students are on school property.

Arrival:
The school day begins at 9:00 AM. Doors will open at 9:00 AM.
Students should not be left unattended on school property prior to 9:00 AM.

All students should be dropped off in the rear of the building. Following the car loop, parents can pull up to the back door and let their child out on the curbside. Students should be seated on the passenger side of the car and be ready to exit independently. Parents should NOT park and/or get out of the car. Staff members will be available to help the children out of the car. If you need to get out of the car, please find an appropriate parking space in the main parking lot and walk your child to the back door, or consider parking on Diamond Court and walk your child to the back of the building. Once the car loop closes, you must park in the front of the building and sign your child in at security. Students who arrive late will be marked TARDY. 

Dismissal:
Dismissal will begin at 3:30.
At the end of each school day bus students will be escorted onto their buses and students attending ASK (after school programming) will be escorted to the all purpose room. 

All students who walk or drive home will be dismissed from the back doors of the school onto the playground area. We do not run a car loop for dismissal. Parking at dismissal is available in our main lot and around the loop. A School Security Officer will be outside to monitor and assist with dismissal parking. All parents/guardians should park their cars and meet their child at the appropriate exit door no later than 3:35. 

Kindergartners will exit at Door 6 (by the picnic area)
Grades 1 & 2 will exit at Door 8 (at the top of the ramp)
Grades 3 & 4 will exit at Door 5 (close to the car loop)

Teachers will ensure that all students are picked up by a parent/guardian. Out of respect for our staff, please be on time for dismissal. 

In the event of an emergency, please notify the main office about your delay.
